Newsgist-Tinie Tempah has been made spec since tupac

Newsgist-Tinie Tempah is one of the only rappers who has made specs cool since Tupac. He has so many trainers he has left some at his aunt's house, he is one of the few Grime artists to have obtained commercial success in the UK, and last night he put his money where his mouth is and brought the stars out for a bash to celebrate his 25th birthday and the launch of his highly anticipated second album, 'Demonstration'.
The British wordsmith partied the night away with a whole bunch of stars including Little Mix, Jessie J and Emeli Sande. The Scottish singer who recently collaborated with Tinie treated him to her own version of 'Happy Birthday' to mark his special day.

Tine Tempah from "the kid not no-one cared about" to a platinum-selling artist
Tinie made his first mix-tape in 2005 and he quickly gained a strong following but it wasn't until February 2010 when his debut single 'Pass Out' topped the UK charts that he received the commercial recognition he had been waiting for. By June 2010 he was performing alongside Snoop Dogg at Glastonbury and after his second single 'Frisky' went to number two he found himself touring with Rihanna, Tinchy Strider and Pixie Lott.
He spent the summer doing the festival circuit in the UK and by September that year he had topped the charts once again with 'Written in the Stars' and it obviously was, because his popularity grew and so did the awards. By the time he had released his debut album he had already scored two MOBOs. His debut album 'Disc-Overy' went straight to number one and the following year he bagged two BRITs.
Since then his career has gone from strength to strength and his track 'Written in the Stars' has been featured in a selection of major sporting events including Wrestlemania XXVII and the American Superbowl XLVI.
Tinie Tempah is anything but tiny
His name might be small but his presence is massive and his honest lyrics and determination have won him the love and respect of music fans and critics across the globe. He is no longer the kid that no-one cares about. In fact, despite the fact that he hasn't released an album for three years he still managed to be dubbed the Best UK Hip Hop/Grime Act at the MOBO Awards' 18th Anniversary just last month.
He began penning 'Demonstration' in 2010 and although he has released an EP in between it has taken him until now to be satisfied enough with his album to unveil it to the world.
But yesterday he was so excited, he marked the release with a party and despite the fact it was his birthday, Tinie didn't forget his fans, he treated them to a live performance at his bash before hitting the dance floor with his friends.
His new album features collaborations with some of Britain's greatest modern artists including Emeli Sande, Dizzee Rascal and British newbie Laura Mvula as well as more eclectic tracks with indie influences.
Tinie has built his following by creating a sound that is grittily British and he recently admitted he would be sticking to the same kind of formula for his new album.
"Where I came from, there were only one or two role models who left me with any kind of direction: Dizzee Rascal or So Solid Crew. I remember seeing where Dizzee came from and the accolades he achieved." He told the Metro."He talked about parts of London I knew, not the Bronx or some club I'd never been to because I was 12. I've always liked championing things that are close to home.
"I still feel like it's early on in my career and I didn't want to jeopardise the British sensibility that resonated with people - even a throwaway line about Scunthorpe. And British rap music is much more of a hybrid; my first single also had drum'n'bass and dubstep elements."
It is nice that he hasn't forgotten where he is from and is determined to inspire kids the way he was inspired. So many artists forget who they are and get caught up in the hype and bright lights of fame. It is the stars that have the courage to just be themselves who tend to have longevity and I have a feeling Tinie is going to be with us for a while.
What do you think of his new album? What's your favourite track?
